Calderon Upset With Inactivity, Still After Canchila

WBO junior flyweight champion Ivan Calderon (32-0, 6KOs) of Puerto Rico is still trying to get a deal finalized for a unification bout with WBA interim-junior flyweight champ Cesar Canchila (27-1, 21KOs) of Colombia. The fight would still happen on May 23 in Puerto Rico. Canchila has a rematch scheduled on March 14 against Giovanni Segura in Mexico. He won a decision over Segura last July. [details]

Calderon is not a big 108 pounder, 112 could be too much for him, some good fights can be made for him there though.

Shame he's having to stay on the shelf though, time is ticking.

He can outbox anybody, the problem will be how he handles being hit at 112.

I think he can outbox the **** out of all the champs at 112 with ease, except Donaire. But I wont rule out a Calderon Boxing clinic on him too, as long as Calderon doesnt gets hit flush, theres no way, donaire can Match speed foot work and ring smartness, but 1 shot and Calderon gets KTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ill love to see. Can you imagine the hype this will get for the little men. This would be a mega fight!!!!

Calderon at 112 wouldn't be a sight for sore eyes.

Yeah, he can outbox pretty much anybody in and around his weight class but it's hard to say how he handles 112, their bigger, stronger and more powerful, I'd like to see him try though, fights with Naito, Narvaez, Kameda, Wongjongkam, Whitfield, Donaire etc. would all be good fights.

                Donaire-Calderon would be pretty big.

This is so sad, Ivan is great but his time is running out and he can't get an unification, those guys ( Sosa and Solis) ducked him, especially Sosa who's a very busy fighter but fighting D level fighters. I don't like the idea of Calderon @112.
