    New Shaun George Interview!

    EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: SHAUN GEORGE
    By Ryan Burton

RB: Congratulations on your win. Were you surprised at how quickly you were able to finish Jaffa Ballogou off?

SG:"No, not really. I trained hard and was very motivated. My timing was there. My conditioning was there. I just had to put on a good performance and listen to my trainer. "

RB: What grade would you give yourself?

SG: That performance I would have to give an A. I did exactly what I had to do. I recognized that I had him hurt. We got to working on that in training with my trainer Tommy Brooks, how to finish these guys off. A lot of times I am in the ring and I hurt just about every guy I have been in the ring with but the thing is I never finish them off. It is due to me rushing at times and a lot of different things that were going on. I had to learn how to finish these guys off and it shows that the training was working. A lot of people thought Ballogou would go 10 rounds and they were surprised at how fast it ended.

RB: What does the fact that Ballogou lasted 12 rounds with Daniel Judah and only 1:26 with you say?

SG: It just shows what kind of punching power I have. When people think about me they think about how skilled I am and that I have some hand speed and am slick. They never talk about my power. That has to do with what I have done in the past to so don't get me wrong but like I said I am taking it one fight at a time and me and Tommy are coming up with a lot of different things. We added a new trainer Aroz Gist (Kendall Holt's trainer) to get a little different perspective. He was in my corner for my fight. Tommy was at Foxwoods working the contender series.

RB: When can we expect to see you in the ring again?

SG: As soon as possible. Like I said I didn't get hit in this fight. I am fresh and I am back in the gym today. As soon as possible. I am thinking April. I need to talk to Donna Brooks and Lou DiBella.

RB: Did you watch Glenn Johnson's fight?

    SG: I saw it yes.

RB: What are your thoughts on that fight?

    SG: No comment.

RB: He won but it wasn't a flashy victory.

SG: He won but I am tired of talking about that guy. Unless he signs a contract I don't want to talk about him. Only if we have a fight. I want Chad Dawson. I want the best fighters in the world. I am tired of talking about it. Lets do it. I am sure the boxing fans are tired of hearing about it and want to see it. Either see me win or lose. I want to fight and I definitely want to fight Glenn Johnson. I will fight anybody my team puts in front of me. That's why I am back doing the old fashioned training and ready to fight again. I am waiting for Lou DiBella and Donna Brooks to say here you go. I am ready to get back in the ring in a week or March 14th, what ever date they give me.

RB: Do you have a message for the fans?

SG: Thanks for your support. Continue to watch boxing. Look out for me. There is going to be an announcement soon. As soon as I get the date you will know. ********** fans thanks for listening and reading the article.
