I was thinking the same thing the day after the fight. Diaz shows sign's of good boxing skills. Good jab, good footwork, nice defense and body movement, punching from different angles. He just doesn't commit to it and ends up throwing it all out the window and saying "the hell with it" as he put it after the fight.
Juan Diaz gained more fans even though he lost

diaz kind of reminds me of ricky hatton......... every single game plan is "pressure". he's more skilled than hatton though - ive never seen diaz resort to hitting and holding to try and win a fight.Comment

To bad he cant be part of that tournament, they should replace El famoso Hernandez with Baby bull Diaz.Comment

diaz is an awesome fighter one that i think every boxing fan likes to see and diaz's post fight comments about wanting to put on a 'war' mean that we can expect many good bouts in the future. i think he abandoned his jab and he should have started to go to the body in the middle rounds just to throw marquez off his gameplan.
the guy needs to lose some of the baby blubber, and with that i think his power might also increase as well. i cant see him losing to a single LW out there today if JMM does vacate the divisionComment

I know Diaz was good enough and the fight was going to happen like this as afar as action, i didn't predict a KO though. I actually thought Marquez wasn't going to as good of a job countering Juan Diaz because of his aggressiveness and volume. Marquez needs timing and when you are getting pushed to the ropes and have a puncher who swings at you with well placed punches and ducks down after his flurries it is very hard to counter. But man Marquez's power and combinations and adjustments in the ring made him win the fight.Comment

[QUOTE=KennyWeldon;4850120]Every die hard Marquez fan I know all said the same thing...Diaz is a true warrior, he fought his heart out and stood up like a man even afer getting up from the first Knock down, he truly got alot of people's respect because most didn't give Diaz a chance against a great like Marquez.
actually i think this fight was a 50/50 deal
It was an amazing atmosphere it was fun just being there live!
I would love to see Diaz fight again, no shame in losing to the man regarded as the best Mexican fighter of this day. Marquez is a A+ fighter, no chump.Comment

I agree, and that makes Nate Campbell an A+ fighter too, since he beat Diaz first.Comment
