There was not one but 2 separate negotiations between Warriors (Miranda) and Palle (Kessler), At first Showtime was to televise statesside. That deal was rejected by Palle attourney Michael Marley who says that Warriors reneged on how Kessler's purse was to be paid.

The second time it was on HBO. All the terms for the fight including holding the bout at the Seminole Tribe Hard Rock Casino in Florida. In other words, Kessler accepted fighting in Miranda's home ring. As it turns out Warriors had simultaneously negotiated a rematch with Arthur Abraham (Sauerland) and prefered that option and ditced Kessler accordingly.

Now I make a quotation from Michael Marley just to get some kick-back on my man pantera2000:

"Kessler's acceptance was done in writing and sent to HBO officials and to [promoters] Leon Margules and Lou DiBella... It was Miranda's guy, Mr. Margules, who stabbed HBO in the back, ducking out to fight Abraham. He was double dealing HBO. HBO was pissed but they couldn't do anything about it."

    Great post

actually i didn't know that so thanks for clearing that up for me bat.

i just assumed that kessler coming off a loss didn't want to get in the ring straightaway with a big puncher like miranda, but daaammn kess has got big cojones for taking on such a dangerous fighter after a loss.

        Bat-

I am not going to rehash this, but Marley is a ****ing idiot who was trying to protect Palle from looking like an ass. 100% fact is that Miranda's team wanted the fight with Kessler. Palle dropped out of sight and did not return calls to HBO, Warriors or Team Pantera for weeks. Not days, weeks! During that time another offer came on the table and not being able to get anything from Palle, Pantera's team signed the sure thing. They werent playing two sides. They wanted a fight and Palle wouldnt sign the bottom line. Sauerland did, done deal.

          And Bat...

If Kessler is willing to come to the Hard Rock and fight Miranda after this Ward fight, I can tell you for a fact that Miranda would take the fight. You got some pull? Make it happen over there and I will be sure to do the same here.

Still the rejection in the first place is still kinda shady. I think Palle tried to hardball too much and overplayed their hand in one way or the other. With the benefit of hindsight it was a very bad move not signing for the fight. It was also a bad move then, but considering how Kessler's career has panned out afterwards it has to be one of the worst managerial decisions in recent memory.

I don't know man. With Kessler doing his fighting in court it will take a long time before we see him in the ring at all.

That being said I'm convinced that a Miranda-Kessler fight would do big numbers over here. He is known as the guy who dared challenge Kessler on danish national TV and calling him a kitten

He could have, but he was adamant that the fight has be at catchweight or 168.

I cant say for sure, but Miranda going over there for a big fight and pay day is a possibility. I think he would rather stay here and fight Froch, but I guess it comes down to the money. Of course I am getting ahead of myself, he needs to get by a tough fight in Andre Ward first!
