I think it was an instant classic. Right from the opening bell, they went at it. HBO even commented on how fast the fight was going. I was thinking the same thing, it was Round 6 before I knew it. The fight was flying by and there was not that much break in the action. The Ref was like a ghost, I didn't even see him. At least that's the way I remember it.
There was also drama with the cuts, Marquez look tired in between some rounds and there was a KO. It was a draw on the judge's cards at the moment of stoppage. And I was feeling great drinking those margaritas and cerveza.
It was one of those electricity-in-the-air fights. A face off between two boxers at the top of their division. Both Marquez and Diaz deserve major props. In fact, when people say that the loser has nothing to be ashamed about, that usually means it was a great fight.
