    Great Fighters in ****ty Divisions.......

Sometimes a fighter's historical standing is affected because they rule a division that really ******. Because of this they never mangaged to have a career defining fight in their prime against another fighter of their own stature.

    A couple examples.....

    Bob Foster at Light heavyweight.
    Khaosai Galaxy at Jr. Bantamweight.

I think that Rafael Marquez has the same dilemna right now. So far, his defining fight (Tim Austin) was the one that put him on the map in the first place.

Ricardo Lopez may have been over-rated (or under-rated for that matter) due to this fact.

        Thank You....

Just don't know what to do with him, in terms of historical perspective.

I believe if he had great comp., he'd have won all the time....but not do so, so effortlessly.

Calzaghe in the last few years has had ****ty fights in the super middleweight div. But i guess thats a mixture of FW and the lack of quality fighters.

No. Pretty much everything you say here is incorrect. Robert Allen is not as tough as almost anyone among Joe's competition. And I'm neither a nuthugger nor British, so don't even bother saying it. Jeff Lacy's division today is not that bad. And Robert Allen is not a super middle. He may have plans to move up, but he's still not a super middleweight.

Rafael Marquez' division isn't that bad. The problem is there aren't any stars there right now. Mebbe if a super flyweight moves up there'll be one, but there's none at the moment.

I think R. Marquez is a good example...maybe Braithewaite too.
