does pacquiao now have to face marquez again for the trilogy??

MArquez moved up to lightweight to chase pacman who had moved up to fight diaz and then Oscar at welter.. and now marquez fought and defeated the top 2 lightweights, won the lineal championship and basically unified the division.. he is also willing to move up to fight manny at a higher weight.. their 2 fights were very close contested and heavily disputed fights.. some believe marquez won both fights, some believe the pacman won.. is Manny obligated to fight Marquez again? what do you guys think?

I had Marquez winning both fights, for the record.

But I don't think Manny HAS to do ****. He's got so much leverage. If he fights Hatton than Cotto or something, who's really gonna be all up in arms ya know?

However JMM/Pac 3 is the fight I want to see and feel like we should see. But Pac has his sights set on bigger things, and I can't totally condemn him for it.

i agree with you guys.. i had marquez winning both fights and i would love for there to be a 3rd fight with pacman and marquez.. but ultimately it is up to every fighter to decide who they are going to face and pacman would probably make more money fighting guys like hatton or cotto.. i think marquez deserves another shot at pacman but i do not think its going to happen but oh well thats how it is sometimes

Yes, they fought twice, so they would have to fight again for a trilogy.

I'd like him to, but it would make things awkward if Marquez won. They'd be 1-1-1. What are they going to do then, fight for a fourth time?

I understand that both JMM/Pacquiao fights were very, very close (razor thin). Lightning struck twice in the same place as we were given two historical, action-packed, give and take battles with disputed decisions.

I understand wanting a third fight from a FIGHT FAN'S PERSPECTIVE (I'd be interested), but really...what's the real significance of a third fight?

I'm not hating, just curious. I hear the possibility being thrown around a lot, but why are so many people banking on it. If I were Pacquiao, I wouldn't give Marquez a third match.

What does it really mean? I mean, the fight was a draw in the first, then Pacquiao won the second one. If Marquez wins the third, then what? The score is 1-1-1...so does that mean a FOURTH is in the making?

As much as I like Marquez (and I really do), Pacquiao's got so many other bigger, tempting prizefights besides Marquez:

                Hatton
                Cotto
                Mosley
Margarito (let's assume for the heck of it in 2010)
                Berto
                Bradley
                Mayweather (possibly)

Marquez IS Pacquiao's rival...but being in Pacquiao's shoes, I don't see how/why he would take it, unless there's a massive public outcry. JMM isn't mainstream, so what we may have is a possible match-up between the following for Pacquiao if he gets past Hatton(realistically speaking):

                Cotto
                Mosley
                Mayweather

But if Marquez keeps on Pacquiao's heels and winning in dominating fashion by making these sort of statements as he did last night against Juan Diaz, I don't see how he wouldn't catch Pacquiao's attention.

You guys keeps on saying marquez won both fights so what is the sense of having the third fight?...

                  Idiots...

Pacquiao already beat Marquez twice so there's no need to prove in his part... But if he want the third fight, I would agree and will watch it...

                    the 3rd will happen.

everything HBO commentators and Marquez and GBP said was designed to set up the fight.

i just finished watching the replay again.

kellerman claiming marquez should be no. 1 p4p not pacquiao.

lampley saying pacquiao has never had a better fight than marquez's win today.

marquez calling out floyd because manny won't face him. if floyd comes out of retirement it is more likely to be against pacquiao-hatton winner. this is negotiations tactics already. GBP would rather see pacquiao-marquez or marquez-hatton than any mayweather fight.

remember schaeffer whispering something to marquez before juan manuel got interviewed? i'm sure schaeffer instructed him to do it.

HBO and GBP wants Pacquiao-Marquez 3. I think they know Hatton will lose to Pacquiao.
