Saying as he's doing well the British media will call him British, and the Irish media will call him Irish.

Was Barry McGuigan British or Irish?
    LOL

I find the case of Rogan quite interesting. He was fighting for the commonwealth title, but its obvious he considers himself Irish...abit contentious considering the History between Britian and Ireland.

Also, if you are born in N. Ireland under the good Friday agreement you are able to choose whether you are British or Irish. The John Duddy case is an example of this.

Although I laughed at Hitman's bait, in all honesty it shows how poor the current Fat Yank heavyweight line up is that I'd bet more money on a Brit bagging a title in the division right now (apart from the fact that Holyfield DID just win the WBA) and that the main Fat Yank playa is a Mexican.

I have a dream that a cab driver will rise from the streets of New York, win some dumb ass Cedric Kushner tournament and then knock out the Nipple on HBO.

Rogan is from Northen Ireland, so is British.
Puerto Rico is an American territory. Is Miguel Cotto american?

Not really. It's always been a bit messy, Irish citizens are considered as 'commonwealth' for purposes of joining the British armed forces, as well.

No, but Northern Ireland is no more a 'territory' than Puerto Rico is. The full name of the nation state is 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'.

Actually yes he is my man. Along with Calderon, Trinidad, Quintana etc etc...

I laid claim to all Puerto Ricans as Americans a few weeks ago and it really bolsters our boxing lineup.

My cell phone plan says "umlimited calling to all 50 states AND Puerto Rico"

What else is there to say?

Yeah, but I mean from the Irish side. Fighting for a title that takes its name from something that is despised in your country seems a bit strange to me.
