DeGale looked ****, frankly. Sure, he was much better than his opponent and I'm not unduly bothered he didn't KO him, as the guy spent most of the fight covering up but Degale didn't throw a decent punch in four rounds. Rather more worrying was his reaction on the one occasion Tchilaia did come forward and throw a few... frantic backpedalling with a sort of "hey, this guy is actually trying to hit me" expression. I fear we have another Fraudley on our hands, folks.Comment

I fnd it slightly irksome that the main headlines are on DeGale despite Gavin (and indeed Saunders based on tonight's performances) being clearly the better pro prospect. Gavin looked sharp, confident, and worked his man with some nice body shots until he opened him up. DeGale on the other hand, looked uninspired and was quite frankly boring to watch. Comparing him to Calzaghe is a joke to be honest. I expect Gavin to make a big impression in the pro's within a few years, but I'd be quite suprised if DeGale gets beyond domestic / euro level.Comment
