I read somewhere, and that was many moons ago that David Diaz' original purse was $500K. Manny fought for him to get at least $800K, and that's what it says on the contract. After the fight, Pacman decided to add another $200 Gs to make it a nice round figure (1M). That extra came from his own pocket, and I don't know any other boxer who would have done the same...

Marquez may be almost as good a fighter as Pacquiao, but he does not have the same kind of power. And it isnt close.
Juan Diaz is several levels above David Diaz, that isnt really a good comparison.

I can't see Diaz getting stopped especially after the beating he took from Campbell where he never went down. I'm not sure I can really see JMM getting stopped either but I think there is a greater chance of this happening.

That's some really great sportsmanship. We all know Diaz wasn't making much with his career in terms of financial compensation, he was still driving the same beat up used car he's always had I believe. It was nice for Manny to give him the biggest payday of his career.

Though Pacquiao returned the favor by taking out $1 million worth of David's ass.
