Cheers for the comments on my article guys. Much appreciated.

Those who think John may struggle as he moves up have a right to that opinion, but when he has struggled in the past it has been due to motivation/sharpness issues. I think that if he stays busy he can give Prescott a real fight.

Bredis fought well last week, I was impressed by his punch picking, but I get the feeling that pressure may be his undoing, as is the case with a lot of slender framed fighters. Khan stayed right in range, John would dog him, it would be an interesting fight.

I agree regarding possibly having the right style, but going straight from fighting bums to fighting a world class fighter like Prescott is terrible match-making IMO. He needs to keep busy with fights he can learn from, against people who aren't bums. His best win so far was against someone rated #98 in the world by boxrec, and I think he needs to test himself against a couple of top 50 fighters at least, before fighting someone of Prescott's class.

I beg to differ although I agree he isn't the finished product yet, and that he's not yet ready to face any of the elite fighters in the division. And he's rated #17 by boxrec, which is a huge step up in class from #98. A bit like going straight from primary school to university with nothing in between.
