Gentleman Glen Johnson will return to action tonight on Friday Night Fights against Daniel Judah. Johnson has an earlier draw against Judah, one of many controversial decisions on Johnson's resume and similiarly it is one of many which Johnson seemed to get the short side of.
In an era in which many of the sport's top names have avoided challenging fights in the name of comfort and convenience I think we should all be grateful for the career of Glen Johnson. The ultimate party crasher, he has travelled the world with little more than the heart of a god damn and lion, avoiding no one but avoided by many, to make the fights we wanted to see. This sport would be infinitely better if the fighters with the physical gifts greater than those of Johnson had a tenth of his heart.
