I'm not sure if this site is a reliable source but i wanted to post this because in this thread the original poster "kadafee" made a comment about cotto and clottey sparring and "Ch@mpBox@PR" flucked up the whole thread by basically repeating himself saying that cotto and clottey never sparred blah blah blah.
Ghana's Joshua 'The Hitter' Clottey (32-2, 19 KOs) will soon be heading to the Caribbean island nation of Puerto Rico to begin intensive gym work for his upcoming fight against IBF welterweight champion, Kermit 'The Killer' Cintron (28-1, 26 KOs) on December 1 in New Jersey, USA.
While there, Clottey will spar with Miguel Angel Cotto who will be challenging 'Sugar' Shane Mosley for the WBA welterweight title on November 10 at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Clottey who leaves Accra for New York this morning also revealed to the Daily Graphic that he will be signing the contract for the Cintron fight by the end of next week.
“Sparring with Miguel Angel Cotto in his homeland is definitely a good way of starting my training for this big fight. I have always looked forward to this fight and now that I have landed it I will invest all my strength in my training so that I can snatch the IBF title from Cintron.”
The 30-year-old Ghanaian had initially landed a fight with Brooklyn-based Luis Collazo on the Cotto Mosley Bill but had to back out when he got the Cintron bout.
Clottey who returns to Atlantic City in New Jersey where he lost a chance to snatch the WBO title from then champion, Antonio 'Tony' Magarito, almost a year ago said “I know I will get it right this time round.”
He lost that fight due to an injury to his right knuckle.
Cintron, a US based Puerto Rican, has lost only one fight since turning pro in 2000.
“I have promised Ghanaians that I will make them proud and this is the time to make it a reality,” he said.
The Bukom-born boxer is currently rated among the world's best welterweights in the latest rankings of the world's major sanctioning bodies — fifth with the WBC, seventh with WBA, eighth with IBF and third with WBO.
