The safe money is on Mayweather every time.

But I'd never bet on Floyd. I wager only substantial sums, and my 2 criteria are...
    • I know with 99.9% certainty what the outcome will be

    • The bookmakers are offering absurdly long odds on that outcome

See, for instance, 4-1 on a Margarito KO of Cotto last Summer.

I would need to see Cotto fight one elite welter post Tony to be absolutely sure, but... I think I would go with Cotto. Cotto has the jab, the power, and the general style that would really give Floyd problems. Floyd wins an easy UD over Margarito, Floyd would probably cut Pacman to peices, but Cotto and Mosley would be TOUGH prospects for him.

Oh, points...I thought someone was talking money in this thread.

Mayweather again...unless I could get odds, then I'd bet on Cotto for fun.

I'd bet everything on Floyd if I was forced to.

But I just don't like betting against my favorite fighter, so I probably wouldn't bet.

I would say Floyd had he been active, but I am actually leaning towards Cotto.

                    Cotto..

He'd still be the underdog and I'd take the Vegas action (even if it's 2-1 odds).

I've always said Cotto is a tough match up for Floyd. People are mystified by both the Hatton and De La Hoya fights. Mosley, Pac, and Cotto give Floyd problems whether people wanna admit it or not. Money is not the only reason these two haven't fought.

Mayweather is the safer bet against anyone. I think the odds would be something like 2:1. I do think if anyone stands a chance of beating Mayweather it's Cotto with Mosley and Williams close behind. I just think he has the right combination of boxing skills, speed, and power to make it a rough night for Mayweather since he's never faced any anyone as dangerous as him.
