There is no WW champ right now.

Larry, you know I think your cool peoples, but Mosley aint the only champ cause he beat someone for his belt. That doesn't make any sense.

Not counting Margarito cause he's inactive the WW top 4 should be:

    1. Mosley
    2. Cotto
    3. Clottey
    4. Berto

But Mosley isn't any more of a champ than the other 4. He's number one because in sports it's "what have you done for me lately" and Mosley has the best recent win.

Exactly! Unless there's some sort of elimination style tournament with these 4 fighters, there will never be a clear cut champ. Mosley vs Cotto / Clottey vs Berto. Winners from those 2 fights fight eachother for WW supremecy!

All we need is Cotto/Mosley 2. Winner of that is champ. What have the other two done? Winner of Cotto/Mosley 2 is lineal champ.

Yes, but then what? Berto is the undefeated WBC WW champ. Winner of Cotto/Mosley will surely have to face him as long as he keeps on his win streak. Dont see how u can be lineal without that WBC strap.

WBC strap doesn't mean ****. When it comes down to it, there aint no difference between any of the 4, except that the WBC is the nicest belt.

Like you said....it's not the belt, it's who you beat.

Cotto and Mosley are the CLEAR #1 and #2 in the division. If they fight, winner is WBA/WBO/Ring Champion. Neither one need Berto.

You're right. Its not about the belt, and it is about who u beat. Dont see how 2 fighters like Berto and Clottey can be left out in the cold without a shot at the throne to prove themselves though. Both of them have a more than good chance to defeat both Cotto and Mosley. In my book, you cant call yourself "THE CHAMP" unless u beat all the top dogs in your division.

That isn't how it works though. Any time the Ring's #1 and #2 fighters fight, it's for the Ring Title. Ring Title=Lineal Champ.

So you're sayin that if Cotto beats Mosley, than beats Berto and has the WBO/WBA/WBC/Ring Title's than he's champ? What about Clottey and the IBF? What makes the WBC title so special?

When #1 fights #2 the winner is champ. Numbers 3 and 4 are contenders for that.

That's why i say winner of Mosley/Cotto should fight winner of Clottey/Berto. It will show who's the clear cut champ. You dont have to agree, but to me, this makes the most sense in determining who's the best WW.
