De La Hoya was aiming at a fight with Cotto. He was under the assumption that Cotto was going to win thus making a huge December fight against Cotto.

When Cotto lost, the $$$ disappeared too. People thought he was scared to fight Tony, but realistically nobody would've known who Tony was (casual fans at that). The Cotto vs Oscar fight was much more intriguing and much more lucrative.

DLH is way past his prime, I don't think he could contend with any of the top WW right now.

I do think in his prime he destroys Cotto and even the DLH that lost to Mayweather would have beaten Cotto easily.

Oscar De La Hoya should just retire in my opinion, Cotto would beat him now.

Cotto shouldn't fight at 154. He has trouble making weight. Why would he go up so he can have trouble going back down. He was in great shape in his last fight so he should just stick to 147.

Ppl are forgeting how good DLH can be, he was simply drained in the PAC fight, expect to see him back and go out in style, i still think he beat mayweather but im sure we will see him back in style. he wont retire with that been his ending
