nah it dont, i'm just trying to rationalize maybe what marquez is trying to say or mean.....
i think that as long as your parents are of that nationality, and you take pride in that, you can call yourself that anytime you want.
But Makavelli, you know how Mejicanos hate on us born here in the states calling us pochos and what not..........marquez could also be trying to drum up interest in the fight too, eventhough he sounds foolish

You can be a true mexican and be born here like MArgacheeto but diaz does come off as a chicano just on his accent. But dude is true to his roots.
