Nerves arent always a bad thing, brother. Different people react differently. If you were to confront me my voice would probably get funny, and I would probably start to shake. Doesnt mean I wont put someone on the floor, its just a physical reaction to the bodies perception of violence.
I dont know for sure, but Valero seems like the kind of guy who just isnt into the talking and posturing. If someone actually swings though he takes their head off. Thats just what I see, though.
