Quintana outboxed Paul in the first fight with movement, Williams caught Quintana big in the 2nd fight Hopkins should do the same and even if Williams tags him Hopkins is not going anywhere. Williams can beat almost anyone from 147-160 I think at 168-175 he struggles
NO! Hops cant do what Quitana did..........

He doesnt have the legs to do so.

Sorry but I had to comment on this, hops and quintana dont belong in the same sentence. Why? Cause anything he can do hops can do at least 3x better. Styles do make fights and with that said williams cant beat hops. As far as pure skill goes hops is just better. If a guy like quintana can outbox williams then im pretty sure hopkins could but that may not even matter cause we are talking about this fight as if williams can actually take hopkins punch. I just dont think so. williams is too slim. Hopkins would rough him up big time. He would literally mug this guy and probably stop him. I like williams alot but this is a risk he shouldnt take. But this is just my opinion. I mean you have mentioned his volume punching but you havent mentioned that the 2 fighters who used that method also both got rocked on more than 1 occasion in there fights (joe got dropped and woobled on more than 1 ocassion and taylor was on ***** street in the second half of there fight). Both of these men are bigger than paul. I can see williams getting stopped plain and simple and this is old man hopkins, prime hopkins would probably kill him.

Joe just outworked him pure and simple... 7 rounds to 5 is the closest you could have it IMO
A clear victory for Joe was the Jones fight. The Hopkins fight was far from a clear victory, people wouldn't still be dis*****g it today if it wasn't close.

Williams looked great against Wright because Wright came to him and stood straight in front of him plus lacked power to hurt Williams.

Hopkins has power and would hurt him.

Williams doesn't have the size advantage like he does in all his fights, Hopkins is bigger, stronger and smarter.

Combine that Hopkins is the best defensive fighter he has ever faced, Williams would rarely land anything plus would get countered at will because of his poor defense.

Hopkins would school his lanky ass.

Kelly lost because of Hopkins lateral movement and counter shots, which was the same reasons why Williams lost to Quintana in the first fight.

Williams will not be able to throw 1,000 punches against hopkins, he'll be forced to throw around 500 (if he can last all 12 rounds).

If hopkins doesn't get fatigued, he should win relatively easy. However at 44 years old it's anyones guess if he'll be able to keep up the stamina or not.

Williams is too open defensively for a master technition like Hopkins and he would be out matched in size as well. I don't think Paul would be his normal agressive self because of the difference in power. That's a kind of fight that Hopkins would take.

It was a clear win to me.. I didnt say it wasnt close... it was close, close and clear for me...

People seem to forget hes 44 years old... Kelly was the perfect fight for him, perfect one dimensional opponent...

And people can really stop using the 1st quintana fight as "proof"

Williams is definitely a better fighter now... anyone should be able to clearly see that..

                Exactly.

Williams chin is very good at 147 and 154 but it has not been tested at 160 or above.

Hopkins is a big natural light heavyweight. He would hurt Williams.

Apart from maybe Vitali, I don't think any current boxer troubles Williams.

Well you could make a case for him not fighting anyone with that type of smart boxing brain since the first Quintana fight. Winky is a smart boxer but he is not that kind of lateral mover and his stamina is not close to what it was. Hopkins would put those same kind of angles on Williams, plus he is the natural bigger fighter which means Williams wouldn't have that same kind of freakish advantages. That style is most effective on smaller opponents that can't keep up.

There is nothign else I Have to say about it... THe Pavlik win is great.. but people who think Hopkins can continue to beat elite level fighters with NO PROBLEM, forever, are absolutely dillussional.

I wont dismiss the possibiliity of Hopkins being able to outslick Williams.

I just dont see it happening. Kelly is a SLOW, PLODDING, one-two puncher...

                      Williams is anything BUT........

44 years old... cant see him keeping up with someone like Paul for 12 rounds... just cant do it.
