Is it correct in that most Mexican boxing fans prefer to support fighters from the homeland as opposed to Mex-Americans such as De La Hoya and Juan Diaz? Wasn't ODLH hated by Mexicans for having beaten Chavez? Will Juan Diaz share the same kind of treatment from Mexicans if he defeats Marquez next weekend? Just wondering. JAT

I was a DLH fan during his prime. I never disowned him until he started saying he wanted big money fights but wouldnt fight margarito. Anyways Juan Diaz parents are as mexican as it gets, they dont speak english. Juan Diaz actually used to live in Mexico as a kid.

If Juan Diaz didnt speak english i think Mexico would accept him as their own.
