Last time I remembered Paul was still calling out and fighting at 147.....

He just went up in weight because nobody would fight him...

Paul KILLS Cotto EASY.. wouldnt even be a match....

Cotto hadnt fought at WW in 8 months... whats the big deal...

The reason he is fighting so high is because nobody will fight him...

        comparison makes no sense.

Cotto never left welterweight. He fought at welter, took time off and came back and fought at welter.
Williams moved up to 160, then 154, and now hes fighting Winky Wright in one of those classes. Williams left welter. And Williams really needed to go to 160 to fight the great Andy Kolle too. Williams is willing to make 147 for huge fights but doesn't wanna go that low for regular stay active fights

And last time I checked Josh Clottey was willing to fight Williams. Josh Clottey is a welterweight too by the way.

If he beats Mosley in a rematch that will probably seal it, there fight was supposed to be close and Mosley is #1 at the division now... just because Cotto beat Michael Jennings don't make him #1 in the division, he is #2 at the moment in my eyes... by beating Mosley in a rematch he will definitely be #1.

Berto just got by Collazo due to his hart but he showed some major flaws in the fight. Flaws I see Cotto taking advantage of. Berto has the DNA to be great just needs more time.
Clottey? He is good but is somewhat slow. would have problems with Cotto's angles. I like this guy but who has he fought? o.k. he beat zab last....and?
Mosley? Cotto beat him. Nothing would change in #2.
Cintron? WTF!....he needs to go to MMA or something.
Margarito? ******************** even with the loaded gloves
the "Punisher" Williams? OH ****! I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT HIM!...I MIGHT HAVE TO RE-THINK THIS.....****!
I agree I think Cotto is the best Welterweight even over Paul Williams because Williams is simply not a Welterweight, his cake comes in at 160 or 154 but 147 is too low for him, he CAN make the weight but why? you gave up your belts to move up so you are no longer a Welterweight, you're no longer included in Welterweight conversation.. as for WELTERWEIGHT fighters if you ask me who is the best out of the fighters I would be inclined to say Cotto. his style is ferocious man, he doesn't allow you room to move when he is aggressive, he cuts off the ring VERY well and has a great body shot, probably the best at WW since Tito..

he proved yesterday against Jennings that he is the real deal, he bounced back from the bottom to the top and did it without 1 flinch, the man is a worthy champion. you might say well who the **** is Jennings? most of you never knew of him nor anything about him personally but that kid is tough, he should have still been undefeated yesterday coming in against Cotto according to most which would have made him 35-0 and he is a solid boxer, he had good movement, he offered a respectable fight and tried his best, he's no chump it's just the man facing him is Miguel Cotto, this is not an easy task..

I think you can always safely put Cotto ahead of Mosley simply because Cotto has already defeated him. it would be like still putting Jeff Lacy over Jermain Taylor even though Cotto-Mosley was MUCH more competitive it's still the same because 1 man lost and 1 man won, after a while if they fight again the edge has to go to the man who won. Clottey is a great fighter in WW but his only mistake that I see is he shell's up a lot like Winky Wright so if you remain aggressive yet agile to where you can duck away from his jab and tear his body. Clottey is a good, sound Boxer but I want to see him face someone who can be effectively aggressive enough to test his guard. Clottey is probably number 3 in the world at WW with Shane at #2 and Cotto at #1 being that he's already beaten Shane and is now also a major champion in WW today.

you cant put cotto in front of mosley just because cotto won a close decision against mosley. that's just too simple, you have to take into consideration that mosley destroyed margarito who destroyed cotto.

Cotto isn't the best, but he's definitely top 5...no doubt in my mind.

Tony has PROVEN that he is better than Cotto.

Paul Williams wasn't effected by any loaded gloves..

Why would Tony load his gloves for a 5'6 midget and not for a 6'1 monster that gave him hell in sparring.??
