There's this little thing retirement. Every single professional athlete goes through it. The one's that hang on too long leave the game as an embarrassing joke a la Roid Jones Jr

That's two names actually... according to you... and that's also 4 top 10 ranked welters in only 7 fights at that weight...

Its not that he lost its that you had the nerve to say he beat Quintana 5 rounds earlier than Cotto.....haha. You gotta admit you make yourself look like a bit of an a55 with that statement.

Anyway back to the OT, I would prefer to see Cotto vs Clottey/Berto/Mosley/Williams(though I doubt he will ever be able to make WW again) . I don't want to see Cotto vs Cintron.

As you can see by the result of Cotto v Margarito, Margarito v Mosley, Mosley v Cotto that triangular correlation doesn't work. And Williams didn't beat Margarito after he beat Cotto but before so there is no way that could be possible.
Well yeah ur right it doesn't work. Styles make fights. There is no clear cut #1 at welterweight IMO...

A loss to Cintron would definitely be bad but from a financial standpoint, it's a good fight for Cotto and it's an easier fight than Clottey for him stylistically, Cintron is also a good next step for his comeback, not too dangerous but at the same time could test him to see how much he actually has left, the Jennings fight wasn't a great indicator of that. He'd definitely get more props and praise for beating Clottey though.

He'll never fight at 147 again imo. I dont care what he says.

If you ask me any Cotto lays Cintron the **** out. I don't like the fight unless it happens in May/June aka very soon. Cintron's another easy fight.

I don't see how you can really knock Cotto's resume at WW. We know that PBFvsCotto wasn't gonna happen for what ever reason. So you can't put that on Cotto.

But all of the other top WW's Cotto has been fighting. The easier fights Cotto has taken were all understanable. They were either setup fights for Mega Events i.e. Alfredo Gomez, comign off a loss i.e. Jennings and 1 mandatory i.e. Urkal.

Judah, Quintana, Mosley, Margarito were all solid opponents at the time. And if you say No then tell me who would've been an Alternative to any of them at the time.

Agreed. Clottey would make for a more dull fight too.

The Cintron fight just doesn't excite me. Not after he (unofficially) lost last week.
