Pavlik wins in a 9th RD TKO against Rubio!!!!

Once again Kelly Pavlik successfully defends his middle weight at Youngstown's Chevy Centre. In front of all his hometown fans. Rubio claims in a post fight conferencethat he was in shape for the fight, but couldn't let go and relax to throw his punches. Then Kelly says that it doesn't matter what Rubio says and that a win is a win. And that he looks forward to fight who ever they have for him to fight.

Rubio is a tough guy. He chose to not exchange and focus almost 100% on defense. That is why he lasted 9 rounds. Pavlik did exactly what he needed to do in there. He busted Rubio up with methodical precision and dominated every single round. I give the man an A for his performance.

On another note it was great to see a real boxing crowd whooping it up Youngstown. Real hard core fight fans filled that place up and they were off the hook for their hometown hero. It was nice not to see a bunch of fake titty bitches that have no damn clue about the game sitting there with a bunch of celebrities just looking to get their name on TV yet again. Real Fans there in Youngstown!

A good fight for Pavlik after the B-Hop fight. A creditable if stellar opponent who did little who Pavlik beat comfortably not doing much because he didn't have to.

We don't know much about Pavlik we didn't before, other than that the B-Hop thrashing hasn't dented his confidence too much. Let's see if he is willing to take on a real opponent next.

Agreed on the fans.. looked like a really good crowd in Ohio.

I definately agree. I live about a half hour away in Akron and I regret not going. He's supposed to be fighting in Cleveland for his next fight & I WILL be there! NE Ohio has great boxing fans.
