Would Williams be taken more seriously if

he chose a weight class and stayed in it, maybe made an attempt to dominate a division? Fight a few title defenses vs young undefeated guys is all it would take to create some legitimacy to his career

yet he seems to just want to jump in with any champ who has a belt based on his win over Margarito, even if he manages to outpoint Winky people will assume he is shot, still it is a step up in class for him.

I'm a fan of Pwill, but I only don't take him seriously as a MW. I hope after the Winky fight he settles in at 154. He can rule that division handily.

I hear what your saying but no one seriously wants to fight him.

Williams is a natural MW, there will be a time when he can no longer make WW or JMW. Williams can fight at MW right now but it all depends if there is any lucrative fights. When Abraham and Pavlik move up to SMW, and Williams moves up to MW, he can easily dominate the MW division.

I agree about 154 or 160, if he dominates there then he can create more interest in big fights at other classes.

Williams is going to one day move up to LHW, maybe even cruiserweight.

How is Williams a natural MW if he can make WW and still carry his strength and stamina? He is a WW that has the ability to fight at higher weights. Until he can't make WW anymore, then he is not a welterweight.
