Pavlik didn't look good at all imo.

He should of stopped Rubio alot sooner, especially when you consider the effort that Rubio put up.

He looked like he used to, maybe with more shots mixed in, he was leading with hooks and uppercuts, throwing more hooks etc. but he still fights like he used to, not much better but no worse.

Agreed. He mixed things up a little better sometimes, but nothing drastic. Rubio's body was there all night and he rarely ever went to it. Maybe a shot here and there, but nothing with combos.

His defense is also terrible. He relies on his height so that he picks off shots with his gloves. If you give him good angles, the punches will land. Pavlik didn't impress me much tonight.

This is why he needs a new trainer. And why his trainer, and pavlik, are very dumb for blaming the Hopkins loss on other factors like the weight, elbow, cold, etc. etc. etc.

If they ware smart, they would analyze the fight, study what pavlik did wrong and try to make improvements.

But instead and because they wont take responsibility for the loss to hopkins, they are staying with the same routine, the same training, the same gameplan.

I love pavlik but he needs to fire his trainer. Pavlik can never be a mayweather, don't get me wrong, but there are subtle things he can add to his game that would make him a much better fighter.

I would definitely agree that by now Pavlik has learned everything he can from his trainer. He could benefit from a new voice in his corner.
