Ive been calling this guy a bum. I dont understand why people cant look up a opponents record and see the quality of opposition the guy has fought, and see if any top guys are on there. If not and hes got 25 or more fights.....The guy is a bum. People make Jennings and rubio out to a Pacquiao or something

a "bum" is a guy with a record of like 2-13 (0 KOs) and has been KOd 10 times.

Jennings was 34-1. He isnt a bum. Hes a DECENT fighter that doesn't belong on the world class level. This was his first test at the world class level and it was proven he doesn't belong there. Match Jennings against guys like say David Estrada maybe and other welterweights like that he will probably win. Hes just not world class and will never be able to fight on that level. Cotto was coming off his first L and needed a fight like this, and he did what he was supposed to do with a guy that didn't belong in the ring with him.

Good win for Cotto. Came back from a loss, got a win against an opponent he was supposed to beat and he did exactly that, got his confidence back, shook off the rust from a long lay-off, lost all that extra weight he gained after the loss so he won't get that heavy again considering hes active again and fighting in June.

      Cotto IS back.

Your right, he's not back because he never left! Cotto did everything right in last night's fight. I was impressed by what he did in the ring. That was a smart fight to take. It was for a vacant belt. Now he can move on to prove he's the best Welterweight in the world to all the doubters out there. He can beat Berto, Clottey,.... Cintron(i can't believe I just mentioned this whoosy's name) and he already beat Mosley. Quintana, Zab. What else do you want from this guy? He called out every name out there after his win last night.....His only loss has an (*) next to it and believe me, ..he would have beat him too if he simply was willing to tie him up when his back touched the ropes, even if Margarito's gloves were loaded or not.

Cotto's confidence has definitely been damaged slightly from the Margarito fight. I think you could tell in the post fight interview to Cotto/Jennings that Miguel feels like he needed a confidence booster, this fight provided for that so..... i agree a worthwhile exercise.

What the hell did this prove? That he can beat a bum? Come on give me a break. Berto, Pac, maybe not Hatton will be a better test for Cotto. He beats any out those three and its safe to say he's back. Cotto is my favorite fighter fighting at welterweight.
I don't see why people are making a huge deal out of it. This isn't anything new to Boxing. Cotto was coming off his 1st lost and a semi-lengthy lay off and they put him in there with someone to see where he's at, and obviously he still looks good.

Not every fighter who takes a loss goes straight back to the pecking order of the division. Cotto in a way has to re-establish his name. Lastnight was just the beginning.
