    Alfredo Angulo vs Erislandy Lara

Alfredo Angulo (15-0, 12 KOs) vs Erislandy Lara (4-0, 3 KOs)

Ok, I know this fight won't take place anytime soon so before I get all the replies that say, "This fight can't happen right now, You're an idiot!", please hear me out. Lets just hypothesize a bit and say these two get matched up in thier next fight. How would the fight play out?

Lara could beat him, all that power, speed and skill is promising. But if coarse, we are just judging this on four fights, and setting aside the fact that Lara has not faced adversity in his pro career let alone fought more than 10 pro fights.

Obviously Lara is a quicker more talented fighter BUT late in the fight Angulo may end up wearing him out and walking him down. Talent and speed will not always trump, workrate, toughness and an iron will. And those questions remain to be answered with Lara. But right now, he looks like an excellent prospect who may turn out to be the goods.

I agree, it's indeed an intriguing matchup today, and if they both continue to impress, will be an intriguing matchup when they are stars.

Absolutely! I'm a big Angulo fan and tend to fancy the tough pressure fighters over the natural talent. We've all seen it before that many times substance and depth trump over the obvious talents. If they fought today, I'd have to go with Angulo. In 2 years, who knows, but hopefully Lara has passed some important tests by that time so maybe we will have an idea when that time comes.

Lara's boxing is light years ahead of Angulo's, so I say that he picks an UD. Alfredo needs to stay away from technical boxers if he hopes to win a world championship, that means no Lara, no Santos, no Williams and no Martinez.
