The promoters of the biggest fight in New Zealand history, David Tua vs. Shane Cameron, are trying to load up the June 6 undercard with recognizable names and faces. One of the main undercard bouts will feature Jaidon Codrington meeting local fighter Daniel McKinnon. Codrington will be used for his name value from his appearance on the 2007 edition of "The Contender" reality show. Fight promoters are also trying to place Anthony Mundine on the show and Auckland's Shane "Chopper" Chapman will face former NZ Olympian Soulan Pownceby. [details]

No one else on the planet cares about this fight. I don't understand why the press keeps shoving this crap down our throat. Tua hasn't fought at all, so seriously this fight means nothing. -
codrington by KO. I dont know why but I really like watching that guy fight. Even with his bad balance and chin and all.Comment

Obviously it matters to someone because this fight will likely sell very well in Australia. At this point, a fight like Tua-Cameron is more of a local interest story but it is boxing and this is news, Jaidon Codrington fighting a local boxer. This card is just short of world class but it has names that are familiar to a lot of people.Comment
