Duddy Takes on Vanda - Pavlik in The Balance

Last February, John Duddy was on the verge of fighting WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik. He appeared on the Klitschko-Ibragimov undercard at New York's Madison Square Garden against "safe" opponent Walid Smichet. Duddy won, but during the fight he was battered and suffered cuts that forced him to withdraw from a potential June 08 clash with Pavlik. [details]

Arum needs to do whatever it takes to get Pavlik a fight with Abraham or Sturm, not Duddy.

No need to fight Duddy yet - let John beat another contender like Demers or Griffin first, and so earn a title shot.

It would make more logical sense to have Kelly and Arthur fight each other now, and let Duddy earn his shot if he can. The problem is it doesnt make as much financial sense, and unfortunately money seems to be the only thing that really talks in boxing.
