Gamboa has never been hurt as bad as Khan was against Limond.
How can you call Gamboa a HypeJob

When you go down reguarly against mid level opposition, you have a weak chin. It doesn't matter if it is as bad as Khans or as bad as Gamboas. When you get hit by a huge puncher, you are not getting back up. Lets hope Gamboa can improve his defence eh.Comment

That's not true, DLH got knocked down multiple times early in his career and he is known to have or known to have had one of the best chins in the sport, Pavlik got knocked down more than once early in his career and his chin is solid. Gamboa has only had 1 genuine knockdown really, the Gonzalez knockdown, the Jimenez knockdown could have been a balance issue but we can't be sure because we never saw the positioning of his feet, the De Jesus knockdown was more of a push, and the Ramirez knockdown was caused by an elbow so just because he's touching the canvas doesn't mean he has a bad chin.
There's no doubt that he needs better defense though, even if it's not fundamental and I'm not saying he would be able to take a flush shot against a big puncher but his chin isn't weak to me.
Khan had been hurt multiple times before his fight with Prescott, like in the Limond and Gomez fights.Last edited by Silencers; 02-21-2009, 08:50 AM.Comment
