If you start punching with loaded gloves you can hurt your opponent without putting all your strength to deliver a powerful shot. This helps you have more stamina, because you're putting a less effort on your punches. Does anyone get tired throwing jabs as much as right hooks?

Your opponent will also be intimidated and be less willing to exchange shots. Backing off to avoid the power shots.

Haven't you ever heard that the best defense is a good offense? Well sometimes thats true. Especially for a fighter that has power on his punches. So Margarito having loaded gloves prevented Cotto from putting on a better offense. He would be more willing to go foward if he wasn't afraid of the powerful shots from his adversary. This gave Margarito more protection.

Imagine Calzaghe with Loaded Gloves. He would be mentioned as the greatest of all time.

He was not getting full leverage on his shots at all and as the fight went on, it got worse and worse.

Not for twelve rounds, because the loaded shots hurt him. And running from them got him tired. If he was on offense in the second half of the fight, he would have knocked him out.

Cotto wasn't as strong as the fight when on the later rounds. So he couldn't hit him more and with harder punches.

Couldn't find any openings??? On a guy like Margarito who has like -50 defense?

Cotto wasn't even worried about knocking Margarito out, or esle he'd of done, more combos, and apply more body work than he did. He was to bussy dancing around the ring, trying to be Mayweather, I say, it was all a bad gameplan.

Maybe you should watch it again, all the shots he landed looked pretty but they lacked true power. Especially as the fight wore on, early he landed with some leverage but as the fight went on they were fewer and far between.

Arguing with Gift of Gab and Chicano79us is VERY Pointless..they like to RULE OUT any possibility of Margarito cheating against anybody else..and STILL believe Margarito just miraculously tried to cheat against the 37 year old Mosley who looked like **** in his previous fight with Mayorga..and while he was a 4:1 favorite!..
