    Gambao=Meldric Taylor???

    I really see that this too have same style maybe Gamboa is bigger puncher but handspeed,and combinations are the same maybe Meldric is little bit faster.Only problem with Gamboa is his defense.His defense suc ks.
    His hands are down and he was down 3 or 4 time.
    Does Gamboa has chance to be a world champ in weight class with Chris John,Juarez,Linares????

    of course he can become a champ... and im quite sure he will be....

    I wouldnt quite put him on taylors level yet though... we need to see him against some elites... so far there feeding him tomato cans...

    I have the most confidence that when he steps up to elite, he will arise to the occasion.

      I think his defense is actually pretty good. He rarely gets hit clean. a couple of the knockdowns in his career were one he was off balance, and one he got hit with a forearm.

      I mean could he put his hands up more...sure, but other then that, he has good head movement, and moves well side to side.

          yeah his knockdowns have been MOSTLY from being off balance, which is why he pops right back up like nothing even happened...

          but in a close fight, that can be the difference between winning and losing...

            He's fought some pretty decent opposition for a guy with 13 fights. The guy he's fighting tonight sucks but look at boxrec, look at Gamboa's opponents records - they all have a winning record, most with only a couple losses.

              his defense is not good. He does put you in the mind of meldrick taylor, only because they start out calm cool and collective, then as soons as they get hit they want to go blow for blow. Even when they are cleary the better boxer, they want to engage in a all out war. Andre Berto is another one that does this
