    Incredible.
Actually before he beat Pavlik there were many vocal Bernard haters on this board. At one point in his career, he may have rivaled Mayweather in hate mail. Hopkins did turn his life around for the better so his record shouldn't make him any less of a man than you or I. He is certainly not scum either.

If he mugged your mother, you would seriously not be saying that.

Of course I wouldn't be saying that, but you have look at the circumstances surrounding the incident. There must of been a reason why he commited these crimes and another reason for changing his ways. His dedicaton to this sport is nothing short of amazing because he doesn't want to end up in that situation again.

He committed the crime as a TEENAGER. He did the time and has now turned his life around. He preaches to kids who are faced with a similar situation to not make the same mistakes he did. He also does random charitable acts for the community of Philly.

To answer your question, yes, I would forgive him at this point if he mugged my mother. I believe in giving people second chances at life.

Agree with this. Nobody is perfect. We are allowed a few mistakes in life. If you do bad but then make up for it, what's the problem.

You're both weird. There isn't a person alive who someone doesn't think is a prick. Do you think Boxingscene should stop covering boxing and devote its coverage to finding people to quote who think that some boxer or other is a prick? Anyone who wouldn't react with scorn to an article about some no-name UFC guy who met Pavlik for 5 minutes and didn't like him is not a genuine boxing fan.

You are his ALT. You would agree with that point of view.

What? She was saying "Who cares?" and then I said "You would care if the dude called Pavlik a prick instead."

I believe it. Look at his behavior in the Hopkins and Jones fights....he's not very well mannered and I believe that kind of stuff carries out outside the ring.
