    Is there really any excuse now for mayweather not to fight cotto?

    I dont think there is one, considering that it looks like margarito probably cheated against cotto. If cotto wins his next fight, is there really a excuse? He has great wins, good knockouts, and perfect weight for mayweather. I don't think he has one, especially if cotto were to fight margarito again and knock margarito out.

    Cotto has already been defeated, and that erases what lil smidgeon of a chance there was of the fight ever goin down. Let it go. He's retired. No way the fight happens.

        He is retired, not an active fighters, and while he might be listening to offers he does not really seem to be seeking out any fights at all. The only one he may seek out is the Hatton-Pacman winner (at this point), but that has not come to pass yet.

                here's an excuse: cotto should stop looking for fights against retired boxers and fight mosley...
