there is no benefit whatsoever in de la hoya quitting and getting a one sided beat down. Not good for his reputaition or bank account. well there could be lots of other reasons why he would have thrown the fight, we will probably never know even if its true. I was just suggesting a theory, thats all.

The point I have been trying to make is that watching the fight with repeat viewings highlights the fact that there was something definitely NOT RIGHT about the whole thing. DLH was not like that because he was shot, weight-drained, past prime or whatever. You do not completely lose ALL sense of boxing abilities after years of experience at the top level because of these things. DLH just did not try, and if you can open your eyes and watch the fight again you will see this for yourself.

nahh i dont think so, with the amount of punches he was allowing himself to be hit by, if they were genuinely hurtful he would have been down by the 5th or 6th round. The bruising was just a cumulative effect, which you would get from a 3yr old girl if she slapped you enough times consequtively in the face..

Pac didn't put full weight behind his punches. Notice how he's moving constantly for most of the fight. He rarely sat down on his punches so as to minimize the possibility of getting clobbered at any point by Oscar. Pac was smart and the gameplan was pure perfection.
