What are truly Rubio's chances against Pavlik?

He seemed like a decent boxer with a good chin. Showed some sense of ring intelligence. If he studied the Hopkins fight and utilizes the same strategy, isolates Pavlik's straight right, he may have a chance.

I really don't think Pavlik has the capacity to learn new tricks. He doesn't really have the athleticism and footwork to become more versatile. A lot of his work depends on his opponent being stationary.

I'd make it about 12-1. When they did the first press conference I seriously thought Rubio was Pavlik's coach or something

Pavlik is far from special! So i give Rubio a pretty good chance of out boxing the 1-2 robot!

I give Rubio a way better chance than I do Jennings against Cotto for one reason. Jennings is a Euro, and 99.9% of the time, when a Euro fights outside of Europe, he usually gets ktfo.

I think it'll be a little more competitive than people think.

Rubio will probably lose, but he's definitely got a punchers chance. Probably a little more than that.

            Only the proverbial "punchers chance"

I dont understand people saying Pavliks lack of technique will hurt him when Rubio has less.

He can study what Hopkins did all year long, but only a handful of guys can impliment the strategy did effectively, he can try an imitate it, but he won't be able to diplicate it. I mean by this reasoning if I learned Hopkins strategy, I could somehow beat Pavlik. You have to have the skills to carry out the strategy.

Rubio will make it a long fight. He'll take a lot of punches, even though he has a relatively underrated defense. Moves his head well. He's pretty slick for a slow guy.

However, it will go KIND of the way that Manny geat David Diaz. However, Pavlik wil be moving forward and pressing the action. Taking him out, mid to late rounds.

I think he has a good chance to make it competitive at least. He's no Lockett, that's for sure. Pavlik has an underrated defense, but he's always been hittable because he throws so many punches. Remember Zertuche was landing looping punches on him, Miranda landed his fair share of power punches during stretches too.

What Pavlik needs to do is switch trainers. He needs someone who can teach him something other than "double-jab right hand". He should be able to handle Rubio though I think it will be a tougher fight than most people think.

                    you're a pathetic troll

European fighters have had great success fighting outside of Europe
