The first fight was so lopsided and weak that I don't ever want to see this fight happen again!

I hope this never happens so Dawson can stop being a ***** and fight Johnson already! The only way for him to win his respect back from me is to fight Johnson, and he simply refuses to do so because he knows what will happen!!! He got a gift last time!

A pointless re match and now an injury pushing even that back.

Is it any wonder Dawson wasn't very seriously considered by Calzaghe and Hopkins?

Pretty much confirmed he'll face neither now unfortunately. Not saying it's all intentionate of course, but it's true, and he'll be an accidental king of LHW due to the top guys he's favoured to lose against, retiring.

Hope he recovers well and quickly to smas help retire a much worse Tarver though...

Chad wasn't considered by those two fighters because of a injury that postponed an involuntary rematch? Maybe Hopkins and Calzaghe are physic?

Not as pointless as Peter Manfredo...lol

Dawson had no choice because of the REMATCH clause Tarver imposed and exercised.

The reason Joe won't seriously consider fighting Dawson is because he'd get beat senseless.

The reasons are the same for Hopkins.

I didn't say that did I, try reading not assuming another meaning.

One obvious legitimate reason Dawson wasn't very seriously considered by Hopkins and Calzaghe imo, is due to the Tarver re match and the schedules out of sync due to it. If either were going to fight it was going to be in April latest. That's a huge factor in weighing it all up.

With that re match pushed in further back NOW, it's obvious that Hopkins and Calzaghe would consider Dawson even less so again, as matters have worsened still.

Were all aware of the clause thankyou, he went for it as well as skipping Diaconnu and losing in many peoples books to Johnson. The re match clause was another choice, and this is the effect on his schedule and future fight possibilities given the plans to retire. Sad as it is, as I do like Dawson.

As for Dawson beating the two guys whom he's ranked behind, I'm afraid your at complete odd's with the majority view from numerous boxing sources and even boxing fans.

                That's all I'm saying.
The fight being March would not have hampered anything. Both Hopkins and Calzaghe fight only once or twice a year anyway. They could have easily set up a fall matchup.

Hopkins, Calzaghe and Dawson have all been fighting roughly every 5-6 months or so for some time now.

With the re match in March, realistically you'd be looking at September for a potential Dawson match with Hopkins or Calzaghe. That's just too far away, and leaves either guy too inactive. Neither want to be in active for so long and have said as much before.

With an injury, and no, christ, I'm not saying it's Chad's fault don't be ridiculous you know I'm not, just it pushes his schedule even further back still. So it's quite an obvious fair point to make, that a potential match up with Hopkins or Calzaghe is even less likely now. Sad as it is, as I like all 3 fighters.

                    Hardly controversial.

Somehow, I don't think timing has anything to do with why the fight wasn't made and I've never heard either fighter suggest such a thing.
