Dear friends,
On Sunday February 22, 2009, Javier Capetillo will be hosting a fundraiser/soccer game in honor of the former WBC and WBA super featherweight world champion, Genaro “Chicanito” Hernandez, to help Genaro's fight against cancer.
The event will take place at the East Los Angeles Community College Stadium located at: 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez, Monterey Park, CA 91754 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. There will be two soccer games between current and ex-professional boxers, two member of L.A. Galaxy soccer team; members of local radio stations and Canal 52 reporters, as well as performances by guest comedian and singers.
After retiring from boxing, Genaro was diagnosed with a rare cancer, one in which his insurance will not cover his full treatment. Our goal is to raise as much money as possible to help Genaro pay for the expensive treatments that he so much needs. All of the money raised by the participants will go directly to Genaro Hernandez.
Entrance donation will be a minimum of $10.00 per person. With your donation you will have the opportunity to meet some of today’s top boxers, as well as meet two members of L.A. Galaxy and radio and television celebrities. So bring your cameras and autograph pens!
