Cotto-Pacquiao: Who Wins? Why? And How?

Ok since Bob Arum said that if Cotto goes thru Jennings this Saturday, and wins next June, and Pacman wins against Hatton, he'll try to make this fight happen at Welterweight. I mean, lets be real, the chances of at least Cotto going thru any opponent that's NOT margarito at welterweight are pretty high, he already beat and knows how to beat Mosley, and Cintron/Berto would be underdogs for a June showdown, let's say he does win those two fights...and pac beat Hatton...that would make an amazing fight of two prime fighters, a true dream match, unlike the Oscar letdown. a fight for pound for pound #1. Who wins? I say Cotto. Not because im puertorican because I had him losing to Margarito since day 1, im no nuthugger, but Cotto is just a very strong welter, in his prime, knows how to box and beats people down in a very dramatic fashion. I just dont see pac, with his really small frame, cuz cotto is a small welter that makes up the difference in his amazing power. I see pac maybe hitting him a couple of times because of speed, but pac has been known to eat a lot of punches at other weights and Cotto unlike oscar would not go to the ring and not fight, Cotto would give him hell and i really see pac not making it 12 rounds, the pressure is just going to be too much, i see a zab judah fashion beatdown in possibly the runner up for best fight of 2009.

So what's your pick, why and how?

Cotto puts a hurting on Manny. I mean this is a prime, true Welterweight, not a totally drained 35 year old Oscar.

I honestly can't see how Pac could win, but it would be entertaining as hell while it lasted.

I'd say Cotto gets him outta there in 7 or 8.

Cotto by knockout but Pacquiao would make it entertaining and competitive the whole time.

Yeah the 7 or 8 is pretty much what i was thinking, and i mean pac has a chance to cut him pretty hard considering he's really precise with his hits but i just dont see a scenario where pac puts a beating on cotto for 12 rounds, i dont see pac winning on points, i mean, cotto is not going to clinch, he would come to spank that ass every round and he has the advantage at that weight...but im interesting on hearing other views.

This is actually very hard to pick. I won't pick Cotto by KO. Considering he didn't put away Malignaggi (yeah, I know, it was at 140) I think Pacquiao stands a better chance than some would be prepared to give him. First of all, I want to see how Cotto looks since the Marg fight.

As this is a tough one, I'm gonna run with DRAW until I see more of where Cotto's at and how Pacquiao looks against Hatton.

Thing is, I think Pac is an easier target than Paulie. Pac is too much of a warrior, he would be too willing to engage.

He's got GREAT in and out movement, and that would give him a shot, but you can't fight a whole fight like that with the pressure Cotto would put on him.

Cotto by knockout for all of the reasons already mentioned.

I like to keep it very simple on this:

                Don't ever doubt Pacquiao.

Cotto wins, cuz he's a WW and Pac is not. Cotto by nasty KO.

I would need to see Pac in there against another 140/147 pounder that wasn't dead at the weight before reaching an opinion. Right now if I had to make a decision I would probably go with Cotto but if Pac handles Hatton and his size easily I may change.
