Moments ago WBC junior middleweight champion Vernon Forrest informed ******* that not a single opponent has been brought to him for his next bout, which is scheduled to take place on Showtime. "I've been reading a couple of things where guys names are mentioned and I'm like, who? Nobody has brought any names to me yet, so the truth is nobody, including me, knows who I'm fighting yet."

I don't think that the owner of that boxing site would be making this interview up....he seems like a man of integrity.

Considering that I saw a copy of the letter from Shaw to the WBC for the Whittaker fight, and a copy of the letter from the WBC rejecting the fight [both provided by a rep for the WBC], I'm more than confident with my version of the facts. Forrest may not have been approached on the fight by his promoter, but that's probably because Shaw was waiting to get approval for the fight. At this point it doesn't really matter who Forrest wants to fight because the WBC will strip him if he doesn't fight Martinez next.
