Wow. People are just bitter. I for one don't believe that Sato has what it takes to beat Strum, but he is a good middleweight, regardless of the quality of Japanese and Asian middleweights. Thing is, he is just unknown. At least, he has a punch. And the champion's chin is not granite. Being Japanese, Sato's title attempt is finy by me. I want the middleweight division to be unified though.

that sato kid trained at top rank gym when he was in vegas, hes is tall and pretty good he has a different style about him when he fights. he kind of reminds me of kid dimond a little because he fights with a swagger.

So being unknown makes you being worthy of a shot for one of the belts?

Fact is that if Pavlik would fight Sato, everyone would be calling for his head.

He is ranked 14th for goodness sake.

damn i really wanted to see him defend against mundine first. but that sato guy is a solid fighter. sturms people will try and set up a unification with pavlik in the summer, if not, a defense against mundine.

Hey a guy with 14 pro fights? Nice one, Sturm's proving his doubters wrong.

Slyvester was his mandatory. He has a year before he has to absolutely fight his mandatory before he's stripped.

I thought Griffin was his mandatory last July.
Re: Sato. Hope he gives Sturm a fight, but this has all the smell of Sturm's defenses against Jamie Pittman and Noe Gonzalez Alcoba, two other undefeated fighters who had beaten absolutely nobody but still got a title shot. At least from his record it looks like Sato has a punch, something most of Sturm's opponents haven't had because his handlers are afraid of his fragile chin
