I stand by that till the end. It would have been over in 2-3 rounds. Rivera, who does not have nearly the power of Mayorga, though he was very tough and gave a brave showing, managed to land plenty of good shots and cut Angulo. Mayorga would have finished Angulo quick. He went to the hospital in an ambulence for precuationary observations after the Rivera fight. They would have needed a stretcher after El Matador was done with him. Shame on Mayorga for pulling out.

its a shame that mayorga pulled out of the fight.
i have a bet on that and it was scrapped..
angulo had a hard time with rivera in the early rounds..
mayorga is much stronger than rivera and van take good shots from the elite.
i still remember the 2 freebies he gave to Tito.. any boxer would kiss the canvas quickly after that blows -
It would have been a good fight, I don't think either one would have destroyed the other, Mayorga is still a very worn fighter, it would have been interesting to see how he would have dealt with Angulo's pressure and workrate as the fight went on.Comment

Not if his ribs are hit up like Ricardo claimed they are. Angulo is not someone to fight with messed up ribs because he will hit you there.Comment

I have to disagree. Mayorga is so easy to hit, and is not nearly as good a technical boxer as Rivera. Angulo would have stopped a heathly Mayorga is mid rounds. IMO. Also with Mayorga's bad ribs it would have been very early KO from a Angulo body shot.
By the way, Angulo's cut was from a Head butt!! They showed it in slow mo, and it was very clearly a head butt.Comment
