Not all of those guys were interested in fighting Floyd, Cotto and Margarito sure wanted to fight Floyd, but Kostya, Acelino, Joel and Paul never seemed that interested in testing themselves against Floyd. Mosley is another one people like to bring up, but they avoided each other at various times.Comment

i don't like floyd much.
he could have beaten all those guys i named.
add casamayor and freitas wins at 130 , spadafora win at 135 , kostya win at 140 and marg and cotto wins at 147 to his current resume.
floyd would be a top atg. i would not have been happy......Comment

I know you don't and I have called you out on it many times. Sure Floyd could have done more, but he still did more then most fighters could ever dream of. His 130 career was on point, 135 and up he could have done more in each weight class, but he was jumping classes at that point, moving up in weight is not usually considered a ***** move.maybe but still gives me something to whine about.

Also who is going to care 10 years from now that Floyd did not fight Margarito, he ****ed his credibility up with the wraps incident. Margarito went from being known for being avoided by Mayweather, to being known for beating Cotto, to now being known as a cheater.
Who in the end is going to care if Floyd did not fight a cheater?
Unless your saying you support a cheaters cause?Comment

Very true.Retired undefeated future Hall of Famer & multiple division champion Floyd Mayweather was an olympic medalist. And had a pro career that spanned over a decade with many titles & no losses. During this time you never once even heard a rumor about him using performance enhancing drugs or illegal tactics like many others during his era. He is an example to cheaters like Margarito & A-Rod.Comment

it's like watching the lakers with kobe , gasol , odom and bynum going through the motions against say the clippers and letting them hang around all game before winning by 4-5 points.
as his resume stands right now he's a great to all-time great but not one of the best of his era and i'm happy with that.
as far as moving up in weight goes......for most boxers it's tougher to go up in weight......for floyd it was easier imho.
for a fast defensive fighter like floyd going up in weight against bigger but slower guys is an advantage tbh. if you look at most of his opponents they were slower , bigger fighters. the only fighter that comes to mind for me that floyd fought that had some speed was zab.
sharmba during his days was pretty fast too but we all know that's not the sharmba that floyd fought.Comment

Ever hear the boxing cliche Good big man beats, great little man. Going up in weight is never easier.
To me Floyd is the best of his generations, remember how upset you got when I picked apart Pacman resume like you are doing Floyd's. You can do that for any fighter really. You have admitted to not being objective about Floyd, so....... how you view his career makes sence but to me it hold almost no weight (if I thought you were objective, I might respect your points, but by all mean feel how you wish about the man).
The Sharmba that Floyd fought was not the best Sharmba, but he still had a little gas left (he won his next fight and was able to have some moments against Paul Williams).
I know you think Pacman is better, probably B Hop and Roy Jones. Along with Floyd that is who I consider the best 4 boxers of this generation, any order they end up in is fine to me, but to deny that Floyd is amongst the best fighters (if not the top) of this generation is asanineComment

when good big man fights a great little man......the little man always wins.
size only matters when the skills are even or at least close to even.
i wonder if floyd will come out of retirement for manny.
at first i didn't want manny to fight him because i thought manny would lose and i'm a big manny nuthugger but the more i think about it. manny's speed and workrate could give floyd some problems. especially if they fought at 140 and if floyd is a bit rusty.
if it's at 140 and floyd doesn't take a tuneup......i'd love to see pac-may this year. at 147 and if floyd takes a tuneup or two......i say NO. lol

I think that Manny Floyd is a very interesting fight. I have no clue if he will come out of retirement though, I think it would largely depend on the offer they made to Floyd and if Floyd needed the money (never know he possibly could, and even if he does not right now who is to say he will not in 6 7 8 months from now). Floyd's layoff would be hard to overcome against someone of Manny's calibur, but I would like to see him give it a try. I do not think Floyd would take a tune up, because he is so ****y I think he would go straight for the gusto. I might favor Floyd but right now I do not know, I might even put it at 50/50.
I have heard the big man little man saying done a buch of different ways, Great big man beats great little man, good big man beats good little man and good big man beats great little man. I think it is an old saying that gets changed up to describe different fights really, but there is some truth to it but anything can happean in the ring.
Floyd did certainly posses certain attribute that allowed him to actually be succesful at higher weight, if you rely on power and phsyical strength moving up is obviously a much more daunting task. To say it is easier I think is wrong though, it is different for sure (I personally think harder but whatever) and atleast of the same level of difficulty.Comment
