Max Kellerman said that Roy Jones was making Joe calzaghe look like a washed up trinidad in round 2 of that fight... something almost word for word to that, made me want to jump through the TV and slap his face. Granted Jones was winning, Kellerman just couldnt have ended up being any farther from off the mark

I don't have a problem with Max and for whatever reason his big upping of certain fighters has never rubbed me the wrong way.

It has taken Merchant 30 years to perfect his craft. Kellerman will learn the errors of his youth and the fanboyism will wear off as he gains more and more experience.

Yea I have no beef with Max, at all and like him most of the time. Just need to understand his point of view on certain fighters, and that you may need to take his opinion with a grain of salt.

One thing that bothers me is how he calls fight, is that he talks like what is going on in a certain fight will continue on for the whole fight, and that the other fighter is basically done for. Then when the other fighter comes back he completely switches his stance on the fight, like he saw it comming all along.

yea it was ****** oow much kellerman was rooting for roy jones in that fight.. in the 8th or 9th round when it was completely over for Roy. kellerman was like HE CAN COME BACK HE CAN DO IT ROY!

What I didn't like was how Lewis and Kellerman stated that Maragarito was cheating in other fights like the had undeniable proof in their hip pocket. Sure **** all over the guy for using the pads against Mosely but when professional Journalists regurgitate messageboard speculation like it's fact just makes me want to punch the TV screen.


It's irrisponsiable journalism and it makes me cringe at the fact that these guys may have to take over for the currect HBO WCB crew.

Max is not a journalist, he is a commentator (I mean in a general sence not a fight commentator). As a journalist you need objectivity and go for facts, which Max is not known for, as a commentator you really only need to spout your opinion (if it is baesless or not).

Actually if you remember his To The Max column on Friday Night Fights he was actually a journalist who had to investigate a few things before he spouted off BS.
