This was a response I got when I said Hatton fought a shot Tszyu, Maussa and Castillo.

I figured if Tszyu still had one good fight in him he would've still fought somebody like Malignaggi at least and not end his resume with a loss. Maussa was destroyed by Cotto and Hatton practically feasted on the carcass. Castillo is now fighting in exhibition matches in Mexico, that doesn't look like being prime to me.

I could be wrong, what do you guys think?

KT wasn't shot, he just wasn't what he once was. Castillo was shot. Maussa was just a fighter who's tough but not very good. Can't diss Hatton for any of this.

Castillo was shot you only gotta look at his performance previously where he arguably lost too Ngoudjo. Take a look at his performances after the Hatton defeat too.

Tszyu was not shot imo. Hatton was just able to bend the rules enough to get by Tszyu though.

Maussa was not shot he was just never that good to begin with, allthough he gave Cotto a much tougher fight than he gave Hatton i agree.

All of the sound responses to this thread basically mirror each other, and for good reason - I can't imagine any other reasonable argument.

The only issue with Castillo is that it took for the Hatton fight for everyone to realize just how far past it he truly was. It's almost unfair to Hatton, especially for those who picked Castillo to win.

Tszyu doing what he did in the Mitchell rematch kills any argument of his being shot. If you want to make excuses for his loss to Hatton, you can blame his stubborn training habits, in which he all but refused to adjust to the fight's late start time (2AM local time, in order to allow the fight to air live at prime time in the US.

That aside, the only claims of Tszyu being shot could be made AFTER Hatton was through with him - meaning that he wasn't shot going in, but that Hatton pretty much ruined him.

Tszyu was past his best but not shot, Maussa was probably in his prime but wasn't that good to begin with, Castillo was shot.

I'm more concerned about Pacman giving a beatdown and people would be saying Hatton wasn't even that good to begin with. Kidding aside, this was because of a Pavlik vs. Hatton P4P thread, just wanted to know what you guys think about one of the comments there. If you think Hatton fought prime Tszyu and Castillo all good, I just don't buy it.

                    Some were others werent

Tszyu - Not shot (coming off a destruction of Mitchell, could have won a few more good fights had he not retired, injuries had taken some toll on him)

Maussa - Not Shot (Not very good though, Hatton's people were very opportunistic, jumping on him after he upset Harris, knowing he was mainly just a brawler)

Collazo - Not Shot (Good fights before and since the Hatton fight)

Urango - Not Shot (He is only getting better, might have even been slightly green when Hatton got him)

Castillo - SHOT (Most definently shot due to years of weight problems, the significance of this win falls everytime Castillo fights)

Mayweather - Not Shot (But then again he beat Hatton)

Lazcano - Not Shot (But no longer in his prime, also spent good portion of his career at 135, still a nice win)

Malignaggi - Not Shot (But his career is a roller coaster, and it all depends on when you fight him)
