I haven't really heard this discussed. Margarito knew before the fight that his wraps were taken. I don't buy the old "I didn't know excuse" that all athletes seem to give (ex. Barry Bonds). So I'm sure he knew going into the fight that he was in serious trouble. Going into the fight I was a huge Margarito fan. Now I think he's a total fraud and a disgrace. He was never a great fighter. With that said, does anyone think that the fact that he knew he was in deep **** hurt his performance in the ring at all? Not to take anything away from Mosley. He beat the **** out of him; even if Margarito and his corner never loaded his gloves, I think Mosley would have beaten him soundly. But does anyone think that the fact that Margarito must have known that he was in serious **** is part of the reason why he was so bad? If I knew going into a fight that I was caught trying to use dangerous material when I taped out, and that all of my accomplishments and my career were in jeopardy, I'm sure I would have a hard time concentrating in the ring. I haven't really heard anyone talking about this. I'm just curing what everyone thinks about this. With that said Mosley beat him fair and square, and Margarito should be banned from boxing.
What was going through Margarito's head during the Mosley fight?
