Is Diaz too strong for Marquez?

Will his constant phone booth attack be able to break down Marquez? For me I think Marquez will be able to counter effectively. But Diaz will keep coming. Your thoughts?

I don't know, I've been wondering how Marquez would deal with a lightweight who uses his size and strength to his advantage, his fight with Diaz should answer that question.

If Marquez survived Manny's assults, Diaz ain't ****

Plus, Diaz doesn't have much power anyways

True but it is a different style. Pacquiao does his work in flurries and on the outside. Diaz bodies up and sticks his head in your chest.

I think this one is going to be easier for marquez than expected.Diaz is a terrific fighter with a lot of heart, but I can see him getting picked off repeatedly here

Exactly when has any opponent gone into a worried about Diaz's power?? It's his volume of punches that they worry about. He's a really good inside fighter, and some refs dont allow that, so if cortez is the ref Maquez will have an easy night. Diaz's game plan will be thrown out the window.

I'm a Marquez fan, so it's sometimes hard for me to be unbiased making calls on his fights. I wrote some columns about him early on in his career, saying I believed he would beat either Morales or Barrera (they were the top guys at that time; Naseem wasn't a consideration - a young, hungry Marquez would have killed him which is why he was hiding/running from him) so when he came to Vegas to meet Medina for the title, Top Rank invited me to meet him, as a way of saying thanks for the early press.

What has always impressed me about him is his text book combinations, and not-so-textbook combinations - especially the way he sometimes (less these days) leads with right uppercuts followed by double left hooks. A thing of beauty to a boxing fan.

I was concerned the latest move up in weight would be his downfall, as I believe his lack of power was the only thing that kept him from greatness. He has the other skills - jab, footwork, counter punching, decent speed, ring intelligence, etc, but I always think he was a hair light in power. But he looked OK against Casamayor; albeit it an older version of Casa, but still a guy who Castillo, Campbell and Corrales couldn't KO. Could it be the move up helped? Is he a little stronger?

His is an excellent counterpuncher, and I believe his skill in that area is the key for him to get by Diaz and his bull rushes. I think the odds on this one are correct, Marquez -140; they should go higher by fight time so bet now if you're going to.

Marquez has nothing to worry about here in Houston,TX it seems to me that almost everybody here expects Marquez to win, kinda sad since this is Diaz's hometown, i can't complain because im one of them too, but it wouldn't bother me if Diaz won. A new star would be born and he age wise he has a good 10 more years in boxing if he really wants to.
