Dude, the economy is bad GLOBALLY lol. Florida's tourist trade is till high (in South Fl especially).

As far as crime, Miami is no where or never will be like DC or Detroit. Palm Beach a few years back was rated as one of the highest rated murder capitals in the county, but **** has chilled out a lot since.

Its tough to get a job anywhere in the country, but as long as FL has beaches and bitches, people will fly in year round and throw money down into Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach's pockets.

Yep, it is worse than the other states. I checked out a career fair about 2 weeks ago and no jobs in all of florida in my area (engineering/construction) but there were quite a few openings in other states like Texas, Washington, NY and others.

Its a number of things, state budget keeps getting cut back and government jobs arent safe anymore. The hurricanes from 2004-2005 really screwed the insurance industry up and no one wants to insure florida property. My parents cant even find an insurer and are using the last resort state insurance company. Either way insurance costs are crazy, property taxes are crazy if youve recently purchased ect ect.

As you said the cost of living has went up a lot in Fl within just the last 5-6 years. Its not "cheap" anymore. Yeah we still dont have state income tax, but I wonder in a few years if they will be pushing for that if it gets worse. Id rather them open up more ******** than do a state income tax.

They should still do it NAPO. The promoters just need to do a better job. There's too big of a latino population down there not too imo. Gamboa seems to be fighting there a lot. Cotto could attract a lot of fans in Kissimmee and Orlando, like you said.

As far as larger state commissions go....

The horrible job the Florida officials did last night, probably even made Texas officials shake their heads.
