Martinez vs Cintron: The Worst Fight of 2009 Candidate?

    The first half: Awfully boring.

The mid-game knockout: Bizarre. Worst refereeing, he counted 10 then revoke his decision.

The second half: Cintron was way too behind the scorecard for the fight to continue.

    The decision: ugh.

The fight wasn't that bad, it's a candidate for robbery of 2009 though.

I don't know about worst fight, but it sure was a weird one. It was kind of boring in the beggining, but it picked up cuase Martinez was mad as hell about the fight going on. I think in a rematch Martinez will make it look a lot more exciting.

        Agreed! Those judges were horrible.

I agree. I probably wouldn't want to see that, but Martinez has to be pissed that it was a scored as a draw.

I agree - it was bad - styles just didn't mesh well at all. And to be honest - Cintron made it very ugly - he did alot of the holding, didn't cut off the ring, and he still continues to put his f***n head down (I wanted to slap him through my TV).

Ronnie Shields (from what you heard on the telecast) was not helping at all - the fight wasn't close and Shields tells him in the final round it is (in the end he was morbidly correct).

Martinez clearly won. Cintron, IMO, has reached the end - he won't return to the top.

I do not think it was a terrible robbery, do not get me wrong I thought Martinez won like 8 rounds with a knockdown in a round he clearly won, the point deuction even if it was kind of soft made the fight not a robbery to me, even though I really can't see how to score the extra 2 rounds for Cintron to make it a draw, but it is only 2 rounds off on my card so can not be a robbery to me anyways (besides the fact that it was a draw so not like Martinez lost).

It was not a terrible fight to me either, by round 7 the fight started to look pretty bad, but after the 7th the fight picked up a lot thus saving it some degree
