he is 30 years of age and only has one loss.. I don't see how he is past it.
usually 34-36 marks the decline of someone's career.
unless you are mexican, african, or asian and have been fighting pro since you where 15 then I don't see why you should be spent at that age and at this point in his career.

Hard to say. He lost for the first time recently, but has also had one of his biggest wins in his last fight. I think he is a little past his best but also still capable of more good fights. I don't think he'll ever get better, apart from maybe using some things a little more (jab) and others a little less (leaping left hook while dropping the right hand).

It's not as if he is done or anything but maybe he is not full prime anymore. I don't think that will really come into play anyway, or at least it certainly shouldn't. It's not as if he has had eighty fights, with a lot of hard, bruising ones in there and been fighting for ten or fifteen years.

He is still relatively young and the only thing wrong has been his between-fight appetite. Nonetheless, if he loses it is because Pac is the better fighter. He is not that past it that talk of "Hatton was shot" should ever come into it. He himself has said that he is feeling reinvigorated with his new trainer etc etc.

Never said that he is SHOT, there is a big difference between being shot and being passed it...and age has nothing to do with it some times.

He is not in his prime anymore, his prime for me was Kostya and around that timeline, he is just decending a bit at a time. Pacman is in his prime because he has matured into it by getting stronger and getting better in his boxing ability, hatton couldn't improve from mauling and bullying and going into 147 didn't make him stronger or anything so he had to take a step back so HOW IS THAT STILL KEEPING HIM IN HIS PRIME. I'd say just before going to 147 was his prime but by no means is he shot...RJJ is shot

physically he is just at the end of his prime, so yes he's still in it physically

ability wise he slipped for a while but got better recently and looked good vs paulie

hattons abilities have picked back up again and he still has oen more prime fight left i think

no excuses when manny sends him out on a stretcher

Admittedly, none of that really matters though. It is simply how quickly someone declines. I'm not saying that Hatton is shot or anything, but fighters age very, very differently so saying that they are the same age makes no difference whatsoever.

Morales was about the same age and he is as shot as an eighty year old fighter. Vargas was flat out shot at about 25, as was Wilfred Benitez. Hatton's post fight blow outs couldn't have helped him and he will be done at a reasonably early age I think, but he is not shot yet by any means.

As you said it is usually around the early to mid thirties that a fighter becomes over it. There are always many exceptions to this though. Hopkins wasn't peak until his mid-thirties. The aforementioned Vargas was shot way before then. I still think that most fighters start to decline in their late twenties, especially if they've been fighting since their late teens or around twenty. They may still be around the top and in some cases may still dominate, but they still just start to decline.

Hard to say, apparently he is living his life a little better between fights, and at 30 I wouldnt say he was past it.He has 2 more years if he wants it at the top,but I think he will retire at the end of this year.He has made squillions, and probably wants to enjoy it while he is still young.
